Nam Hoang (he/him) is a designer, strategist, and woodworker. He aims to create more meaningful community participation and advocacy in issues of architecture, making, and urban futures.
As a design strategist with SHEEEP.studio, Nam brings tools and frameworks from strategic foresight: working with clients and their stakeholders in participatory ideation, strategic needs assessment, research, and horizon scanning. As for the finer details, he brings his experience and thoughtfulness as a fine woodworker to design projects.
Nam is also the co-founder of Makeshift Collective, a multidisciplinary arts and design collective that used to operate a woodshop, photo studio, and sewing studio in Chinatown. Through skill sharing, mentorship, and community builds, members of Makeshift fostered a culture of collective care, experimentation, and creative agency. Nam continues this work through SHEEEP.school.
